How to Transfer Dash Cam Video to a Computer
For editing, archiving, or sending large files, a computer is still the easiest destination. Transferring footage takes only a card reader and a minute.
Use a card reader
Power down the camera, remove the microSD card, and insert it into a reader or laptop slot. Copy the clips you want to a folder on the computer.
Find the right files
Footage is usually split into normal, locked or event, and parking folders. Locked and event clips are the ones tied to incidents.
Return the card safely
After copying, eject the card properly, reinsert it in the camera, and consider a quick format so it is ready for clean recording.
