Editorial Policy
This page explains how RoadLens operates editorially: where our information comes from, how we keep recommendations independent of our affiliate income, and how to flag a mistake.
Editorial independence
RoadLens earns a commission when you buy through an Amazon link on our site, through the Amazon Associates Program — see our affiliate disclosure for the full detail on that relationship. Commission never determines ranking or inclusion: we do not accept payment to feature or rank a product higher, and we do not buy through our own affiliate links.
How we use sources
We separate three kinds of information on this site, and try to keep the distinction clear rather than blurring them together:
Primary sources: manufacturer documentation, official product pages, spec sheets, and manuals. Where a page states a specific number or capability, it traces back to one of these.
Secondary sources: reputable independent coverage or technical explainers, used for general background on a technology (for example, how a sensor class or storage format works) rather than for claims about a specific product.
Editorial analysis: our own interpretation, comparison, and recommendation, built on the sources above. This is clearly our judgment, not a manufacturer claim, and it is where we say plainly when the evidence has a gap.
How we rank and recommend
See how we choose for the full framework we use to evaluate dash cams and accessories. In short: manufacturer specifications and documentation, feature analysis, use-case fit, and comparison against the rest of our lineup — not in-house lab testing.
Updates and corrections
Guides and reviews are updated when our product lineup changes or we find something worth correcting; the date shown on each page reflects when it was last edited, not a fixed review schedule. If you spot a factual error, an outdated spec, or a broken link, please tell us through our contact page with the page and the issue — we read every message, and factual corrections are the fastest kind of feedback for us to act on.
