How to Hide Dash Cam Wires for a Clean Install

A dangling cable is the giveaway of a rushed install. Tucking it away takes a few extra minutes and makes the whole setup look factory-fitted.

The standard route

Run the cable from the camera up into the headliner, down the A-pillar, and along the door trim to the power source. This path keeps it fully hidden on most cars.

Tools that help

A plastic trim pry tool lets you open gaps in the headliner and trim without scratching, and a cable-tuck tool pushes the wire in neatly. Avoid metal tools that can damage panels.

Mind the airbags

Many A-pillars house curtain airbags. Route the cable around them, not through them, so nothing interferes with deployment.
